AI-Powered Water Management Drives a New Wave of K-Water Industry Visiting Water Korea in Busan to Explore Co-growth with Innovative Companies ![]() Yoon Seok-dae, President of Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), explored strategies to create new growth opportunities for Korea’s water industry in response to rapidly changing global water environments. According to K-water on March 22, President Yoon visited WATER KOREA 2026, the nation’s largest water industry exhibition, held at BEXCO in Busan from March 18, in celebration of World Water Day. At the event, K-water showcased advanced water management technologies together with 20 innovative water companies, receiving strong interest from visitors.
Amid a transformative phase in the water industry, he shared directions for fostering new growth engines centered on AI-based water management and discussed strategies with innovative companies to revitalize the industry and prepare for the future. K-water has been achieving meaningful outcomes in the global market alongside domestic water companies. Earlier this year, it co-participated with partner companies in the world’s largest technology exhibitions, CES and MWC, confirming the global competitiveness of AI-based water management solutions.
Notably, 21 companies that participated in CES secured investment discussions totaling approximately USD 89 million. Among seven innovation award winners, one company received the Best of Innovation Award for its AI- and drone-based water management technology. In March, eight companies also participated in MWC, achieving approximately USD 40 million in investment discussions. Furthermore, K-water received recognition at the prestigious GLOMO Awards for its AI and digital twin-based water management technology, demonstrating the global competitiveness and growth potential of K-water management solutions. Behind these achievements lies K-water’s comprehensive support system, spanning startup support, technology validation, and market expansion. K-water plans to accelerate its own technological innovation through initiatives such as the AI transformation (AX) of water management, while strengthening synergies with its corporate support programs to help domestic innovative companies achieve tangible results. |
